I have sailed both types of yachts as a tourist and have not noticed a noticeable difference. Of course, if I were a boat professional, I would think differently. So it is interesting to read the opinions of people who know about it - what is the difference between a simple yacht and a sailing yacht, apart from the presence or absence of sails?

I can't call myself an expert in this field, but the main difference is that the sailing yacht was designed for racing competitions and then for family sailing. And the wind is the source of propulsion, so it will be difficult for beginners to handle the sails. I looked at the GetBoat https://getboat.com/ yachts a bit more to visualize them in my head and remembered an important point - a motor yacht may be faster, but until you get out on the open sea, there will be a lot of noise, and if it is a cheaper class, it will stink a lot of gasoline. Personally, I would choose a sailing yacht with a captain.
