The report, launched by Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney, showed 27 percent of the total was spent on humanitarian assistance and the remainder in pursuit of Ireland's objectives in international development.

 

It showed Ireland provided over 194 million euros in humanitarian assistance last year.

 

2016 saw the scale of humanitarian need in the world reach record levels with over 130 million people in need of humanitarian assistance.
