DHAKA Jerian Grant Bulls Jersey , Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- The fire that broke out Friday afternoon in a building inside the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka were put under control, officials said.

No further details were yet available on casualties caused by the fire, they said.

The blaze started at the second floor of the airport's main building from an Air India office at around 1:37 p.m. local time (0737 GMT), a Fire Service Control Room official told Xinhua.

The official, who did not give his name, said a total of 10 fire firefighting units brought the flames under control at about 4:00 p.m. local time (1000 GMT).

Hundreds of passengers, officials and staff were reportedly evacuated following the fire.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh said flight operations at the airport gradually resumed after 4:00 p.m. local time when outbound passengers were allowed to go inside.

"We'll do our best and work through the night to clear the backlog of delayed flights," said Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Director Kazi Iqbal Karim.

He said no flight has been cancelled and only some flights were delayed for hours.

A three-member committee has been formed to look into the fire incident and will submit a report within the next seven working days.

WELLINGTON， March 30 (Xinhua) -- A New Zealand former defense minister on Thursday called for an investigation into claims that New Zealand special forces led a raid that killed six civilians in Afghanistan in 2010.

Wayne Mapp， who was defense minister when the operation was carried out in August 2010， stopped short of urging for a full inquiry， but said it would honor both New Zealand soldiers and the Afghans to find out what really happened.

The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) had previously denied civilians were killed during "Operation Burnham，" but allegations in a book by two investigative journalists this month resulted in Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Tim Keating conceding this week that civilians might have died.

Mapp wrote in a blog Thursday that he had been in Afghanistan at the time of the raid， which was led by New Zealand's Special Air Service (SAS) and involved Afghan forces and U.S. air support.

The raid was targeting insurgents in Baghlan province， who were believed to be responsible for attacking New Zealand troops and killing an officer.
