Posted in the topic Women's Aviator Jackets: A Fashionable and Cozy Option in the forum Suggestions

Many different characteristics, such a fur collar, numerous pockets, and ornamental stitching or patches, can be found on aviator jackets. They are now widely available in a variety of materials, colors, and designs and are a popular fashion accessory outside of the aviation and military communities.

During World Wars I and II, pilots and other members of the aircrew wore aviator jackets, also referred to as flight jackets or bomber jackets. The jacket often has a fitting waist and cuffs to assist block the wind, a front zipper closing, and a short length. For warmth, the interior is frequently lined with wool or synthetic materials, and the outside shell is frequently constructed of leather, nylon, or a combination of the two.

The first Aviator Jacket was designed for pilots during World War I. The jackets were made from leather and had a snug fit to keep the pilots warm and comfortable during long flights. The jackets also had a front zipper closure and a fur collar to provide extra warmth.
