Is it worth using Ledger to buy and store crypto? Do you agree with this statement? Now my crypto is stored on an exchange and I'm afraid of its possible closure.

Is cold wallet 100% safe? Or is there still a possibility that money can be stolen from it? I want to invest more than $30,000 in crypto assets, so I am looking for the safest way to store them. Exchanges are not suitable for me at all. Perhaps some of you are using the Ledger live wallet? Is it safe?
How do you secure your crypto assets? Are cold wallets popular in 2024/2025 or have they been replaced by exchanges long ago? I would like to hear your opinion on live ledger wallet, it's seem to be the most popular and secure. I wanna buy a large amount of BTC but haven't decided where to store it yet.
