WWG was at IEM Oakland very last weekend and Kevin Knocke got a chance to catch up with SmithZz from G2 Esports' CS: GO team. They mentioned why SmithZz thinks there must be fewer events and road directions in competitive play, the professionals and cons of a pro gamer schedule, and professional sporting activities teams getting into esports.
Kevin: Kevin Knocke here for WWG Esports and I'm linked here by SmithZz via G2 and you had the 1-2 match against SK yesterday. How did you experience coming in to this event with IEM Oakland given the actual state of CS exactly where it seems like there's a new staff winning every week?
SmithZz: And so basically it was the 3rd celebration in a row for us. There was the ELEAGUE playoff, ?t had been really important for us. But N . Arena, it was mostly to be on the continent and to plan this event. So basically i was prepared for this event. And clearly we went 1-2 versus SK in the quarterfinals, it's the same a bit tough... disappointment usually. But I guess they earned the tournament now, and so...
Kevin: [laughing] It always feels good to shed to the team that is the winner the tournament right?
SmithZz: Of course. [laughing]
Kevin: Why are we in this environment throughout CS right now where Dignitas one week, you win the subsequent, all of a sudden Astralis wins friends at ELEAGUE... It just feels like there's no consistency week for you to week. Why?
SmithZz: I believe... it's all personal, nevertheless I think there is too many occasions and too many maps at the same time. For a top tier team, it is certainly hard to be ready on several maps. It's kind of extremely hard. Even on six I do believe it's not possible. Look at each team. Us, for example , jooxie is really good on Dust only two in the past, 6 months ago. Subsequently to Buy the Cheapest CSGO Skins we left that a tad on the side, now we're fine on Nuke. It's always any cycle. And if you see similar to every team winning activities, it's always new because they are participating in Nuke if they're excellent on Nuke, like five to six times in the tournament. Therefore they're winning it that is certainly always why there's a brand-new winner.
Kevin: You u kind of joked before the employment interview, "Is there a way to resolve any of this? " Come on, man, in short no . But what form of things would you, as a participant, like to see that would make from your work better?
SmithZz: I think the very best one is to stop qualifications online because every day there's a completely new matchup and like daily, every day, every day... And I think really becoming boring for visitors. And it's really painful for people as well, because we terribly lack time to practice. We are actually practicing 8 hours every day, we'll say, and if many of us play two official suits a day it's 6 time, and if you do individual fields, it's 4 hours, and that means you don't have time to do anything brand new or whatever. So I think a lesser amount of qualification online, it will be great. But it's an advantage for large teams, it's a disadvantage intended for lower teams. Because they can not qualify. Like for me, the most effective system would be only events on invite. But how will you say, "This is the top rated 8 to invite? very well
