NFL DFS Picks Week 8: QB sleepers, values
Ryan Tannehill, Titans vs. Buccaneers (DK: $5,100 | FD: $6,900)
The value picks are thin this week with guys like Matt Ryan and Drew Brees questionable to start. Plus, Dak Prescott and Lamar Jackson are on bye. Tannehill still isnt ranked inside the top-20 most expensive DFS quarterbacks in Week 8, but he should be.
After going 13-of-16 pa sing for 144 yards and an interception in garbage time at the Broncos in Week 6, Tannehill earned his first start of 2019 in Week 7. Taking over for Marcus Mariota, Tannehill played very well against a Chargers defense that has allowed 216.1 yards per game through the air (fifth best). He went 23-for-29 with 312 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
It was the second time a quarterback threw for 300 yards in a game against the Chargers this season, and just the third time over 200 yards. Per Next Gen Stats, Tannehill posted the best completion of pa ses above expectation in Week 7 (plus-22.1 percent) even though he was pre sured on 42 percent of his Jarrod Dyson Jersey dropbacks. He draws a Buccaneers secondary that is allowing the most yards through the air(304.5) and 30.8 points per game this season.
Matthew Stafford, Lions vs. Giants (DK: $6,100 | FD: $7,700)
The Lions quarterback has faced some challenging defenses to kick off the season. He has gone up against two top-10 secondaries (pa s yards allowed per game) and three top-10 defenses (points allowed per game). Despite the difficult matchups, Stafford has averaged 291.8 pa sing yards per game and has a 13:3 TD:INT ratio over six contests.
Stafford is fresh off a 364-yard performance against the Vikings where he to sed four touchdowns to Marvin Jones Jr. along with one INT. It made for his second 300-yard performance of the season, and with that he became the fastest NFL quarterback to reach 40,000 career pa sing yards.
TheGiants are allowing 26.7 points per game this season (tied for sixth most), so expect Stafford and the offense to be humming in this one. If youre worried about the Lions blowing out the Giants, think again. Week 8DraftKings, FanDuel Picks: RB sleepers, values
Melvin Gordon, Chargers @ Bears (DK: $5,400 | FD: $6,400)
Week 7 saw Melvin Gordon out-touch Austin Ekeler 18 to eight in underwhelming rushing performances by both backs. Gordon caught and scored his first touchdown in three games against the Titans, but he is averaging just 2.3 yards per carry thus far. His share of touches is the most important factor moving forward.
Gordon comes in at a very affordable rate given his pedigree, and he now has three games under his belt to shake off the holdout rust. The Bears may seem like a foe to avoid, but they just allowed Latavius Murray to post 119 rushing yards on 27 carries for two touchdowns and five catches for 31 yards.
Prior to Murrays Week 7 outburst, things were similar on Week 6. Josh Jacobs ran 26 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns, adding three catches for 20 yards. This feels like this is about to be Gordons 2019 breakout party.
Sony Michel, Patriots vs. Browns (DK: $5,200 | FD: $6,500)
No one was expecting Michel to have a big output against theJets on Monday Night Football after posting a pathetic 11 yards on nine carries against them Week 3. But he scored three touchdowns in a lopsided Week 7 victory.
The Browns defense is allowing the third-most rushing yards per game (154) and have given up some major production on the ground over its past three contests. Chris Carson racked up 124 yards on 24 carries with a score;Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida combined Jorge De La Rosa Jersey for 211 yards and two scores on 27 carries; and the Ravens piled up 137 yards on the ground between Mark Ingram and Lamar Jacksons 21 rushes.
The Browns simply cant stop the run, and Michel frequently logs 20 carries against bottom-dwelling rush defenses. Rex Burkhead also mi sed last week with a bad foot. If he mi ses again, Michel should be in line for around 20carries again.

FanDuel, DraftKings Picks Week Patrick Corbin Jersey 8: WR sleepers, values
Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals @ Saints (DK: $5,400 | FD: $5,400)
Week 7 was catastrophic for Fitzgerald, as the Cardinals got run happy and let Kyler Murray throw just 21 pa ses, three of which went Fitzgeralds way. The veteran wideout ended with one catch for 11 yards as Chase Edmonds ran the ball 27 times and Murray an additional 10 times.
The Saints are stingy when it comes to yards allowed on the ground, giving up just 90.6 yards rushing per game (ninth best). Fitzgerald should get closer to the 8.7targets per game that he received through the first six contests. Allen Robinson and Chris Godwin went off against the Saints twice in the past three games. Expect Murray to look his way more after completely neglecting him last week.

Courtland Sutton, Broncos @ Colts (DK: $5,300 | FD: $6,000)
Sutton has become one of the best long-ball receivers in football, putting a unique type of pre sure on secondaries. Joe Flaccos big arm can accommodate Suttons ability to beat swift corners, and the two have connected for long pa ses of 41, 41, and 70 yards over the last three games.
Sutton has three touchdowns over his last three contests and is averaging 80.5 yards receiving per game this season. With rookie Drew Lock set to return from the IR sooner than later, Flacco may need to take some more risks to prove that hes indeed capable of leading Denver to more victories and that should benefit both Sutton and Emmanuel Sanders. Jared Cook, Saints vs. Cardinals (DK: $4,000 | FD: $5,800)(UPDATE:Cook has been ruled OUT for Week 8.)
Cook was forced to sit out New Orleans' last game with an ankle sprain. We hope that wont be the case this week, as Drew Brees is aching to play and the Cardinals have allowed some ma sive performances to tight ends this season.
Cook had nabbed a touchdown in two consecutive games prior to his recent absence, so the connection with Teddy Bridgewater was already becoming a thing, but Brees impending return could be even better.
