Over the years, the main objective of offering a special education in schools has been to provide students with disabilities quality education. Nevertheless, early detection and prevention of disorders is another emerging issue in the special education programs. Currently, there is a great advocacy for identifying the emergence of disability early in life in order to curb it through intervention programs. Several groups actually sponsor the programs focusing on early detection of developmental delays that can be curbed through the intervention programs. According to Centers for Disease Controls, more than 10 percent of children in the intervention programs end up not requiring special education in their later years of schooling. Basically, early intervention in special education has become an emerging issue due to the increased level of emphasis.
In the education sector, early intervention not only profits children, but also alleviates the financial burden that could be incurred by the expensive special services in schools. Basically, this emerging trend will require the change in perspective from the parents to the law makers in order to help curb some of these disorders and disabilities in childhood. As stated earlier, there are groups that have offered to fund the intervention programs. These groups are simply enhancing the campaign for curbing some of these disorders and disabilities in order to save children.
