Percutaneous PESA is a simple, low-cost method of sperm retrieval that offers a high sperm recovery rate and adequate pregnancy outcomes in men with obstructive azoospermia. Compared to PESA, surgical sperm extraction (TESA) is a more invasive technique in which a needle is passed blindly into the epididymis or testicles, which can increase the risks of complications, such as hematoma and wound infection. Despite these limitations, PESA is the preferred method for sperm retrieval in most men with obstructive azoospermia.pesa mesa
