Resolving Gmail not receiving notifications, and Deleted Gmail

    Constantly receiving Gmail notifications can be frustrating at times. Still, there may also be times when you might have forgotten about an important email, and suddenly, a notification pops, and you remember that email. Gmail notification not working will cause you to log in to your Gmail repeatedly to check for any email. You might have mistakenly changed some Gmail account settings causing this hindrance in receiving Gmail notifications. Try these possible solutions for Gmail notification not working:

    1. Enable notifications

    Gmail notifications will be enabled by default. But chances are you may have turned them off by mistake, or it may have been turned off due to a system bug.

    • Go to Gmail settings and choose the option, General.
    • Click Manage notifications.
    • Make sure all options under Manage notifications are enabled.
    • Click on Mail and enable the option of Notifications.
    • In addition to this, make sure DND is disabled.

     

    1. Ensure correct system time

    Gmail notification not working may also be due to incorrect system date and time. Make sure that the time and date are set correctly on your Gmail system. Select automatic time zone settings. Alternatively, you can manage the system date and time manually also,

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on System.
    • Click the option Date and Time.
    • Enable “Use network-provided time” and “Use network-provided time zone.”
    1. Permission to send notifications required

    Using Gmail as the default email can be helpful. You need to grant permission on your system for Gmail to send notifications. Following are the steps to enable permission to receive Gmail notifications:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Go to the Apps sections, and based on the device, you are using select App manager, Manage apps or, All apps.
    • Search for Gmail.
    • Select Permissions.
    • Enable all necessary permissions.

    These hacks solve Gmail notification, not working problem. Some users may also have deleted their Gmail due to the Gmail not receiving notifications issue, and now might be looking to restore deleted Gmail account. To restore deleted Gmail account, follow the steps mentioned below in the blog-

    1. Visit the Google sign-in page.
    2. Select the option of “Forgot Password.”
    3. Type the last password that you remember for which you want to restore deleted Gmail account.
    4. If you do not remember the previously used password, click on the next option.
    5. Gmail will send a verification code to your registered mobile number, which is linked to the Gmail account.
    6. Click “yes” on your phone and choose the same number on your PC as displayed on your phone.
    7. It will direct you to the link for creating a new password.

    If you have not added your account to your phone and still want to restore the deleted Gmail account, choose the option of “Try another way.” In this case, Google will send the verification code as a message to your registered mobile number. Type that code, create a new password and restore deleted Gmail account.
