Students often submit their whole assignment without proper referencing, which leads to poor grades in their college and Universities. There are plenty of referencing styles which is included in different assignments. The student should look after before submitting their assignment. Incorrect referencing can also cause failure in their assignments. The referencing styles include APA, Mla, Chicago, Harvard, Oscola, Vancouver and Oxford. The students do not look for the requirement of referencing of the assignment; therefore, they submit the wrong references. Sometimes, the student intext the reference but forgets to add it to the bibliography section of the assignment.
There are several reference generators which help the student to generate proper references as per the requirement of their assignment. The Vancouver style citation generator style consists of mainly two components which are intext citation indicated by the use of a number and a reference list at the end of the document providing full details of the intext citation.
- The reference lists of Vancouver references should be properly listed in numerical order. This should be done in the same order as per the in-text citation. The reference list should be titled as ‘References’. The reference list should include only the full details of the cited sources. Other sources should not be included in the reference part. The order should be done by using Arabic numeric words and should be abbreviated in the styles used in the NLM catalogue.
- The student should be consistent for the reference styles across the documents. The examples of the Vancouver reference list is given below, which will give the student a better idea about the referencing styles of Vancouver.

- All of the mentioned references in the file should be properly in text. The in-text of the Vancouver reference should be with an Arabic number with a bracket after the citation or bibliography generator. If the assignment contains the same reference source more than one, then the same number should be used in the in-text citation. The student should check for whether several sources are cited in one sentence in the assignment. Then students should cite them as (2-4) to refer to the source and (2-4, 8) to refer to source 2, 3, 4 and 8. The in-text citation should be done wherever the name of the author is mentioned in the text.
- One thing that the student should keep in mind when referencing in Vancouver style that the student should always include numeric in the in-text citation and the reference part of the assignment. Each of the concepts and evidence should be properly references to make the assignment properly done, which will help students to achieve higher grades in their colleges.
