    An amine based vulcanized silicone rubber product is a liquid product. It is typically mixed with a petroleum-based product to achieve the consistency of a liquid. The product is then injected into a mold, where a solid material called a "resin" is formed. In order for an amine-based product to achieve a high temperature of over 500 degrees Fahrenheit, it must be mixed with an alkali. This combination of chemicals creates the ability for the product to convert from a liquid to a solid. Once solidified, the amine-based compound will have the capability of contracting to a sphere.
