    PPR Water Pipes

     

    Once winter arrives, construction workers are more careful than ever when installing PPR water pipes. PPR water pipes have low temperature brittleness, which is determined by their material properties. Nevertheless, even in colder areas, the popularity of PPR water pipes is still very wide, why is this? Because the low-temperature brittleness of PPR water pipes is not as terrible as you think, and the effects it brings, in fact, can be avoided.

     

    Low-temperature brittleness does not affect the normal operation of PPR pipes

    Low-temperature brittleness only reduces the impact resistance of PPR pipes. That is, PPR water pipes can not be subjected to large external impact, such as impact, knocking, dropping, etc.. However, the creep resistance of PPR raw materials is excellent, and low-temperature brittleness does not have much effect on the static pressure-bearing capacity of water pipes. How to better understand this point? For example, a glass fish tank, if impacted by external forces, it is easy to break. But as long as it is not impacted by external forces, it can carry tens of kilograms of water. Long-term normal use, unharmed. Therefore, as long as the water pipe is installed, it is not affected by low temperature brittleness in the daily operation. What's more, the water pipe belongs to the concealed project . Once completed, it will be protected by the ceiling and walls and other tissues, and is difficult to be impacted by external forces.

     

    The adverse effects of low-temperature brittleness can be avoided

    (1) Do not store the PPR water pipes in the outdoor where the temperature is too low. You should choose to store in the warehouse or shed, and the stacking height should not exceed 1.5m.

    (2) PPR pipe in the process of handling is strictly prohibited to throw, drop, roll, drag. Be sure to pay attention to light handling and light placement.

    (3) winter construction, especially in the 5 ℃ below, cut the pipe slowly with a sharp knife. The installed pipeline can not be heavy pressure, knocking, if necessary, the vulnerable parts of the external force covered with protective material.

    (4) Generally below 5 degrees Celsius, doors and windows need to be blocked to allow room temperature to be raised until the construction temperature is reached. If the pipe is stacked at low temperature for a long time and its own temperature is low, it needs to be placed at the right temperature for about 48 hours to allow the pipe to warm up before the normal construction operation.

    (5) Before the construction of pipe hot melt, check carefully whether the pipe has been damaged. Especially the inner wall, avoid using the pipe with broken inner wall.

    The part of the pipeline exposed outdoors should be well insulated. Both anti-freeze, but also can play a protective role.

    (7) The pipeline must be pressure tested after installation to exclude hidden safety hazards that are not visible to the naked eye.
