Step 1:
To start this guide on how to draw a skull, we'll start by drawing a rectangle with a lighter pencil. We'll use a pencil for now, as this rectangle is for illustrative purposes and will not appear in the final image.
You can then draw an oval shape above the rectangle. Drawing an oval can be tricky freehand, so you can use a drawing tool like a compass to make it easier! For the oval, you should also use a pencil now. Our reference image will be a great visual guide to how it should look!
Step 2:
For the next step, you need to draw on the oval with your pencil, but only on the parts not inside the rectangle. Once you have drawn this, you can erase all the pencils.
Be sure to let the ink in the pen dry thoroughly before erasing it. Otherwise, you risk smudging the ink.
Step 3:
We will draw the cheekbones for step 3 of learning how to draw a skull. To do this, you can draw two very wavy lines that mirror each other, as seen in the picture. If you could make them roughly the same size and shape, that would be awesome!
Step 4:
We'll count the jawbone for the following action in your header picture. This will extend from below the cheekbones to how they appear in the reference image. Using the image as a guide, it's best to avoid making the jawline too long or too short.
Step 5:
For phase 5 of this focus on how to draw a head, we resolve to count the first look socket. You can see from the photo that it should be round and flat on the right side and a bit more pointed on the left.
Step 6:
In the next step, you can draw a mirror image of the left eye socket that you drew in step 5. The reference image will be your guide for placing the other eye socket. Once you have both eye sockets, you can remove the beak as it occurs in the image.
Step 7:
