Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS) is an endoscopic surgery performed to remove renal stones. The procedure is done using a flexible ureteroscope, which is placed through the urethra (the urinary opening) into the bladder and then through the ureter into the kidney (intrarenal area).
