System take 3 minutes to wake up from sleep mode

    Hi,

    I have Windows 7 Home Premium on a self-built machine with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processsor 4400+ and Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT graphics card. I have my power options set to turn off the monitor after 30 minutes of inactivity and put the computer in sleep mode after an hour of inactivity. That works fine & is consistent.
    When I wake up the computer, the monitor comes back and shows the desktop just as I left it. But nothing else happens for approximately 3 minutes. After 3 minutes the hard drive activates and everything works just as it's supposed to.
    I've changed many of the power options, enabling and disabling them. Nothing makes a difference. Any ideas of what can be causing this 3 minute delay?

    Please help.
