NICOSIA, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- British Prime Minister David Cameron paid a surprise visit on Thursday night to an air base in Cyprus from where Tornado fighter-bombers launch air strikes against Islamic State fighters in Iraq.

The unannounced visit lasted only a few hours and Cameron met and talked with pilots flying sorties against the Islamic State in Iraq, before he left for a visit to the British forces serving in Afghanistan.

The English language newspaper "Cyprus Mail" which has access to the Akrotiri air base from where the British planes fly out said in a report that Cameron announced the Tornados will be based in Cyprus until April Men's Nike Vapormax CS Triple Black UK Sale , 2015.

He also said that two more Tornados would be assigned to Akrotiri lifting the number of planes deployed there to eight. One of the planes arrived on Thursday night and the second one was expected on Friday.
