The degree of the injuries and the difficulty of recuperation in time to compete in the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 were confirmed by an MRI on the right knees of players Alex Telles and Gabriel Jesus, according to a statement from the CBF on Saturday morning.
Jesus, a forward for Arsenal, and Telles, a fullback on loan from Manchester United to Sevilla, are still to determine whether they will stay in Qatar or return to their respective clubs for medical attention.
They are the most recent World Cup participants to sustain injuries, with Neymar missing Brazil's final two Group G games due to ankle ligament damage.
Right-back Alex Sandro suffered a hip injury earlier in the tournament, and Danilo missed the match against Cameroon and the victory over Switzerland due to an ankle problem.
