Can We Ever Be Objective About Ourselves

It’s incredibly hard to describe yourself objectively. We either undersell or exaggerate. This is especially obvious when writing bios or summaries for public platforms. A friend of mine an accomplished researcher struggled to sound “neutral” in his write-up. He eventually turned to hire Wikipedia writers to create something that felt accurate without sounding boastful. They used third-party sources and removed the fluff, making it more credible. That outside viewpoint helped a lot. I wonder—can we ever truly be neutral about our own story?
