Many of us deal with car rentals. For example, you might be traveling to another city for a business trip, going on vacation, or perhaps your car has broken down and you need to rent another one while it’s being repaired. Where do you usually prefer to rent cars: from private owners, from official rental companies, or somewhere else?

I rent cars exclusively from rental companies. Wherever I fly, I always arrive with a ton of luggage and suitcases. Where else am I supposed to look for a car besides airport rental offices? Yes, it’s more expensive, but you don’t have to run around looking for a car or wait for it to be brought from somewhere. You pick it up on the spot and use it right away.

If you’re flying somewhere at the last minute, that’s one thing. But if you have a planned trip or vacation, who’s stopping you from arranging a car in advance? I always check with private owners on local car rental here: https://getrentacar.com/en-US/car-rental . If I find a car I like at a price that’s right, I discuss all the terms in advance and arrange for it to be ready when I arrive. I’ve never had any problems with this. You also save a significant amount of money when renting from private owners.

It all depends on where I’m going. In big cities, there are chain rental companies, and I don’t want to fuss over saving money, so I rent from them. If I’m going to a smaller town where the big rental companies aren’t available, I can rent from private owners by arranging it in advance after finding their contacts.
