Which two rods for a trip to New Zealand?

    I’m off to South Island next December for a two week fishing trip.

    Which two rods (weight/length) will I need?

    I’m thinking two might be a good idea – partly as backup in case (when?) there’s a mishap and/or to do something different from each other?

    Two rods sounds smart for that trip. On my last outing before a Punta Cana Large Group adventure, I took a 5wt and a 7wt, and it made everything way smoother. One stayed set up for dries, the other for streamers, so I wasn’t messing around changing rigs all day.
