  همانطور که اشاره کردیم بوی بد فاضلاب به علت فعالیت باکتری‌های بی‌هوازی درون چاه فاضلاب است که در اثر فعل و انفعالات این باکتری‌ها گازهای خطرناکی همچون سولفید هیدروژن، آمونیاک، متان ، کربن دی اکسید ، کربن مونواکسید ، نیتروژن و … تولید می‌شوند. برخی از این گازها در تمام چاه‌ها حضور دارند و بوی بدی نیز دارند مانند سولفید هیدروژن که بویی شبیه تخم‌مرغ گندیده یا لاشه دارد. اکثر گازهای فاضلاب سبک هستند و به راحتی بالا می‌آیند و اگر سیفون دچار مشکل باشد می‌توانند وارد ساختمان شوند.

  البته امکان دارد سیفون دچار مشکل نباشد ولی به دلیل استفاده نکردن از ظرفشویی یا توالت آب داخل سیفون خشک شده و باعث انتشار بوی بد فاضلاب درون ساختمان شود. این موارد را در خدمات لوله بازکنی شبانه روزی ستارخان نیز مفصل توضیح داده ایم.
