As you have said that the issue was in your email address, you should also check your internet connection because sometimes the problem behind the slow notifications is the speed of the internet. Another easy way to make sure about that is to run a speed test. There are a lot of tools and that can be confusing so I would suggest you this one speedput . It will test the various aspects of the internet and the results will be displayed in just a few seconds.
